it is branching up out of of the pipe that carries away the waste water. the dishwaher is next to the sink and also drains there I beleive.
it sticks up and ends just under the sink and has a white “cap” with holes in it.

What kind of plumbing transistion would I use to go from a standard (hard white) PVC tube to the flexible black pvc tubing used in ponds?

Today when I drained, and then re-filled my water heater , to flush sediment out of the tank, what came out was some soft, sticky, white particles . Any ideas on what that could be ?
Thanks.

I just used the purse today for a couple of hours, and I was wearing my new army blazer with it. When I got home it looked like I got it dirty, but upon closer inspection, I saw that it was the dye from my jacket. I’ve tried to clean it off with an old toothbrush and soap and then I tried laundry detergent. The laundry detergent lightened the stain, but it’s still there. Can anyone help me? I LOVE this purse and it’s brand new! HELP!

Before purchasing a home, during inspection,OIL furnace (FWH) everything passed. But there was 2 weeks period between closing and when I can move in. So immediately after closing I had switched off the furnace using main (emergency) cuttoff switch. When I turned it on after tweeks, The furnace seems to be working fine but white smoke started coming from Chimney. So I was worried and shut if off again.
IS this normal because the furnace is off for two weeks? or something I should worry

We have a Bradford White gas hot water heater that isn’t working properly. We’torn it apart and cleaned everything and have seemingly figured out what is wrong with it but we aren’t totally sure. What is happening is, a green control light comes on the pilot sparks and lights, then the pressure switch (TDI, Inc.) starts clicking and it shuts down. We have found that if we clamp off the pressure tube leading to the switch the pilot light will stay light and the water will heat, but then the vent gets really hot so we don’t want to continue to do this because it’s most likely not the safest thing. We are thinking that it is a bad pressure switch; but someone else told us that they rarely go bad and our vent could be blocked. We went outside and checked the vent and it appears clear. Should we replace the pressure switch or is it most likely something else? I don’t want to hunt down a switch if that is not going to fix the problem. Also, is there any other way to check the vent?

The ceiling is made of that chalky material with little “balls” in it, if that helps! And we had a home inspection and were reassured that this was an old stain, not an active leak.

Actually, it should be chromed.
I think that’s the kind of trap you are looking at.
White brass is generally useless, and plumbing brass is yellow brass.
Yellow brass has less zinc than white brass.
Yellow brass is not brittle and very useful in the plumbing industry.
I respect old manufactured plumbing products because of the quality.
That particular quality is rare and getting rarer.
But your trap is worth no more than what dirty brass recycle price brings, which right now here locally, is 50 cents a pound.

CPVC- for hot water only
PVC- rated for water pressure, some as high as 220 psi
Plex- used for supply line that will not bust at -20 degs.
Copper- standard water supply, more costly than Plex
Galvanized- waste only not to be used for supply
on all the new houses we build, we use 1 1/2″ PVC from the water meter, then from PVC to Plex to water heater…….and tee off of 3/4 Tee for cold ater supply….run 3/4 Plex as main supply and branch off of it with 1/2″ Plex as supplies to baths and kitchens and such…….
so yes, u can use PVC as ur supply but it will freeze…….

Do I clean them out or do I have to buy new pipes? I’m refering to the u-shaped one under the kitchen sink. I thought they were made of heavy-duty plastic. Could there be a hole in it or do I need a new plastic washer?
Thanks.
