My water heater is old (20+ yrs) and will need replacement soon. I just do not have funds right now. I’m taking shorter showers, but I seem to notice a soft hissing after I bathe or run the dishwasher. Is this normal? It may have been making these sounds before and I just didn’t notice. But now that I’m on guard more I hear it.
Also, can the unit “explode” or will it just die out and stop working?

I recently purchased a new home from centex homes and was offered a soft water loop. During construction I saw that the plumbing went from the main line to the loop, but before getting to the loop there was a connection that went towards the back yard and to the kitchen. I most definetly would have like my kitchen sink water and refrigerator to have filtered water. Does anyone know why the kitchen did not get included in the loop?

this is my first time to handle any plumbing. i want to install a hand shower (hand bidet) beside the toilet.Guys at Lowe’s helped me with a Watts 3 way 3/8″ adapt-a-vavle and a piece of 3/8″ soft copper tubing to connect the outlet on the adapt-a-valve to the 3/8″ intake on the hand shower.
Problem is i don’t know how attach copper tubing to both sides….the tube fits inside both fittings…but it’s loose….should they have given me some tubing with a flar ? any ideas ??
