I noticed some condensation in my passenger side headlight one day at my grandmother’s, so we lifted up the hood, and immediately noticed a dark color sort of splatter against the engine, so we figured something might be leaking…on closer inspection, we saw that it appeared as though the radiator was boiling over, and that there might be a crack in it. There’s rust in the front of the radiator and a little down below where the fan is. Obviously because of it being rust, I’m guessing that this has been an ongoing problem.
I’m only seventeen and to be honest, I don’t have anyone that I can turn to when it comes to cars…my parents are divorced, so my dad was obliged to buy the car and that’s it…so I really have no idea what I’m talking about but I’ll try…so here it goes, lol.
I let my car sit at work for the duration of my shift before taking off the radiator cap, and after looking in it, it looked really rusty…there were particles floating in it, and when I touched it, it had just a plain watery consistency. The overflow bottle was as dry as a bone, so I put a some 50/50 Pennzoil coolant/anti-freeze in it to the low mark. I drove the car back home, approx. 30 miles and after letting it sit a little longer, I checked the cap again. This time, it appeared as though the coolant had actually gone through, because inside of the radiator there was a greenish liquid now and it was oily instead of watery. So…I assume that the coolant was being pumped into the radiator.
I’m really afraid to go get it checked out, because I don’t want to only need a flush but then get told that the whole radiator needs replaced. I’ll be honest, I don’t think I can afford to get it fixed, but then again maybe I don’t know what kind of price I might be looking at.
What could have caused this problem? It’s a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant ES with a little over 100k miles on it, I figured that old age and mileage might have just done it. Also, does it sound like it needs flushed, or replaced, or what? And would anyone know what kind of price I might be looking at for either? Finally, I don’t really know if something like this is minor or major, so I don’t know if I should be thinking about starting to consider if my car has a lot of time left in it or not. I just really don’t know, like I said, I’m only seventeen…and I’m a girl! Not that that means anything…=D lol. I’m just not knowledgable when it comes to cars…at all.

I just had a bathroom installed by a friend (That was my first Problem)
The bathroom is built in a room with no basement with a 8″ space between the slab and the floor. The 3″ main runs from that room into the full basement with plenty of pitch. Anyway, there is no trap on the sink and no way to add one with out ripping out all the tile and sub-floor. There may not even be a trap on the shower (Not Sure) The toilet, I know has its own trap.
What I want to do is add a trap to that 3″ line that runs from that bathroom. I know its not code, but I think this will keep the odors from entering the bathroom through the sink. What would be the down side of adding the second trap.
Thanks
Lenny

I’m a college student, in a town outside of Atlanta. I just moved from a house (I was renting a room) to a townhouse closer to my college. it’s a 2 bedroom I will be getting a roommate soon, However we have problems with both toilets. The one downstairs
i had to cut the water off because it kept running and was about to overflow. The one upstairs just keeps running. The owner moved out of state & the lady next door is over the rental
but she said she didn’t know how to fix it. The owner called tonight, but he said hes wants to wait until a uncle of the lady next door comes which is in a fews weeks. I just don’t know what to do. I feel like they’re trying to pushing me around.
What should I do?

I have just bought a home. We closed on the 29th of Feburary. Once we moved in we realized the plumbing was bad. When the upstairs toliet is flushed, I get sewer water coming up in kitchen sink & threw the laundry drain. The seller did not disclose this, nor was it in the inspection. Can I sue to get the problem fixed, or is it all on me? THis was an FHA Loan, & it was not a AS IS Home. My home owners Insurance says it was pre-exhisting & they can’t pay for it. I had 2 plumbers come out, & say that I have severly deteriorated pipes under my slab. Which is affecting my foundation. Cost of repair is anywhere between $7000-$9000 depending on what more they find after they jackhammered up my home. I live in the Dallas fort worth area.

I have a pressure gauge on my water pipes. When normal it read 64psi, but when the water heater kicks in the pressure goes up off the charts, past 100psi. Should I replace the water heater or is something else the culprit? The water heater is 7 years old. If I have to install a thermal expansion tank I might as well change the heater too. thx

We closed on Tuesday and started moving in. Plumbing didn’t really start getting used until the next day. First thing Thursday morning all hell broke loose. Toilets and bathtub started overflowing. Couldn’t get a plumber out that day or the next so of course the problem just got worse. Ceiling is leaking all over the basement. We have a warranty on the house which won’t cover anything. Homeowners insurance might cover sheetrock but that’s it. We havent even been here a week and now we have thousands of dollars worth of damage that we are expected to pay. Is there anything I can do about this? I don’t think we should be responsible when the seller had to have known there was a problem(which she vehemently denies and we can’t prove). Should I get a lawyer? We finally got a plumber here today which we had to pay $60 for them to do nothing. It’s going to be 3 thousand just for them to clean the pipes.
