Had H and A inspection on home, failed inspection, all 3 units prob 20 years old, needing a total $1,700 repair to make them passable. I will not accept them as being only passable to have them fail in the near future. Contract is written so I may provide addendum or refuse contract based off of findings. However, I do want the home. Therefore, I want 3 new units installed so it’s passable. I will split the cost with seller 50% if they will accept. However if the contract does not go thru to closing for whatever reason I will need a way to recoup my cost I invested. Is there a better way to handle this situation?

A friend mentioned that when scooping out his cats’ litter box, he flushes the waste down the toilet. Another friend said that this was a bad idea and could cause clogs, septic problems, and other issues. I live in a townhouse, but the toilet and plumbing systems are not new. Would it be okay to flush away litter box waste, or is it a bad idea?

I recently bought a 2″ PCV ball valve adapter thing to connect two pipes. This is not for plumbing purposes, but I’m making a potato cannon for a project, so are there any methods to make it easier to turn? IN THIS CASE, A STIFF HANDLE IS NOT GOOD.

Any suggestions to this problem? The apartment manager often turns off the water for several hours without warning the tenants. He says it is an emergency. He does this often, so I am beginning to wonder how many emergencies there can be? I live in a building built in the 70’s. The manager is notorious for not giving warning. I assume there are plumbing problems. Any suggestions on how to handle this situation? Should my manager be giving warning about turning off the water?

The house I just purchased currently has an older shower, not sure of age, but it has 3 fixture handles in the shower - one for hot, cold and to switch between bath and shower water. We would like to change it to have only one handle that controls everything but I would love to be able to do it myself.
I am wondering how tough this job would be for someone with limited plumbing knowledge? Also, we currently have fiberglass shower walls that we are planning on replacing at the same time so access to the pipes is not a problem - there is also access behind the shower from a closet.
Any info about this job would be greatly appreciated!

I am used to taking off a cap of the front of the handle to access a screw, so you can take apart the handle and replace washers, o-rings or whatever. There is no way to get this handle apart. The center of the handle has a small hole that looks like an allen wrench could fit into. I tried a allen wrench and nothing catches inside the handle to loosen. Any ideas how to remove or repair these old florida tub faucets.

after replacing hot water heater, i have no hot water in kitchen. all other faucets have hot water. faucet is 2 handle with one water spout.

i am trying to replace a faucet stem in my tub but the screw is stripped out so i cant take off the handle, what tool do i need to get the screw out.

Our shower faucet is leaking, and all I need to do is replace a rubber washer inside the handle. Unfortunately the shower handle is stuck (I can’t unscrew it). We had a couple plumbers come out and tell us they’ll need to cut a big hole in the fiberglass shower kit, replace the shower handle, then put a big sheet of metal over the hole… that’s going to hurt the resale value!
I asked about coming in from behind the shower, but we live in a condo and would have to rip out our kitchen cabinets (which are on the other side of the bathroom wall).
I’m trying to loosen the shower handle threads with Liquid Wrench, but is there another way to fix the leak? I have a hard time believing this idea of cutting a huge hole then using a big sheet of metal as a patch is the only way.
