The two water intake pipes dont have valves on them. Could anyone give me a tip to maybe other location where it might be. I got the power off to it but its leaking into the insulation now and i need to cut the water to it asap. Thanks.

If I am buying a house and I want to have someone come in and inspect the property, who can I contact? I’m not looking for an appraisal, I just want someone to come in and inspect the property to make sure the roof, foundation, plumbing, etc. is good before we go through with buying the house.

Two story home has been hit with violations for code 45 “illegal conversion of basement into one apartment.” This is a mother/daughter conversion. The home was already inspected previously but this second inspection states living walls and all plumbing must be removed. Both inspections came about because of non paying tenants on the top floor. This house is listed as a “Two family dwelling” on the C of O. The converted cellar is occupied by the daughter. No permits were filed by owner for work. How can I find an Architect/Expediter to resolve this (not too expensive) to avoid penalties and having this removal process done? Anyone have a similar situation? How much did everything cost? How can I resolve on my own if needed?

I’m looking for potential employers. I am an AutoCAD drafter and my experience has been mostly MEP (HVAC, electrical and plumbing).

I hired a plumber to put in a boiler and foolishly paid him in full before job was finished. All he needs to do is install a hard wired CO detector and remove my old boiler (in my back yard). Also there is a very slow leak in one of water pipes into the boiler he needs to fix.
This plumber has disappeared off the face of the earth. He was supposed to have pulled a permit for the job although I never actually saw it.
My questions are:
I live in Massachusetts. What office do I call to find out if he actually did pull permit.
What should I do to handle this other than call Better Business Bureau.

I live in NYC and work on a television show that has a long summer hiatus. I decided I want to move back into the woods for the summer (I’m from MI) and have chosen the Idaho/Montana/Wyoming region for its abundance of natural forest and parks. I want to rent a rustic (preferred plumbing and electricty) cabin/home for the months of June and July but am having trouble locating month to month options. Any ideas on places I could check out?

I have already tried writing letters to all the local firms!!! and ringing all the local plumbing companies.
