I just purchased a crane plumbing toilet, and it does not fill up the bowl to a level I think is right. It only fills to about 1/2 inch over the drain. and leaves about 11 inches dry. The tank fills up fine and I adjusted the float to fill the tank within 1/2 inch of the overflow. I am at a loss to what to do next. Any suggestions appreciated. tia

It was a plumbing apprenticeship from which I was told 2 weeks prior to being let go that I was doing fine. I think coming into winter they did not have enough work, but they said it was because I wasn’t learning fast enough.

We are building a home and originally, the stove was on the center island with a downdraft. We requested it be moved to the side counter under the cabinets. They were supposed to put up a hood range for ventilation. We have 42″ cabinets. Come to find now that its in, they say they dont need the top vent because they will pass code inspection as it is. We are concerned that the smoke/steam of cooking will damage the cabinets above the stove top without a top vent. It only has a downdraft vent built into the stove top.

I have been told that in order to properly air this home you need 2 zones at least. The inspection on the home states all items are code per NC code and that there is only one issue concerning the HVAC. Unit is not producing an adequate air temperature drop. The normal is 15-20 degrees total difference between return air and supply air. It tested it 10 degrees difference.

We recently moved into our first house and have yet to make it through one shower without running out of hot water. I tried everything I could think of. The heater is a 40gal electric heater. I’ve tested both elements with an ohm meter, they checked out fine but I replaced them anyway to be sure. Both thermostats were working properly. Voltage was correct at 240. I took the cold line off and checked the dip tube. It was fine. I drained the tank, it didn’t help. I even replaced the valve in our shower faucet. Nothing worked. Fed up I gave in and bought a new water heater. It is a 40gal electric heater as well. Guess what? We still have the same problem. To be on the safe side, even though it’s brand new, I tested all the elements, thermostats and so forth just in case. What could possibly be the problem. At this point I’m 99.9% sure it’s not the water heater after all. Please help.
