I was in the process of purchasing a home in North Carolina. The inspection revealed issues and I sent emails to my realtor stating that until the seller addressed my issues and concerns because i already paid out $750.00 for inspections and I did not want to pay for appraisals and surveys until he committed to fix the issues. This went back and forth for weeks and i have emails to prove this. Finally on 10/28/09 the seller addressed my issues via email thru the realtors and i said thank you and advised my realtor that i will get the process moving as quick as I can. I had the assessment done on 10/31/09 and informed my realtor who advised the seller that we would close the day after thanksgiving. He said he wanted an exact date and my realtor advised me, i said it would be day after thanksgiving but to be on the safe side, the mortgage company will let me know definitely as soon as the results came back from appraisal. on 11/2/09 I advised my realtor that it will be day after thanksgiving and he said we needed to extend the contract date. the original date was 10/20/09 and sent me a form to fill out and send back to him which i did. on 11/3/09 i got an email from my realtor stating the seller was going to back out and return my deposit. If the seller was going to back out due to the extension why did he make me do the appraisal and spend more money and why did he not mention this in his email to me on the28th which was 8 days after the compliance date. He led me to beleive all was ok. I questioned my realtor and he said he found another buyer so he is backing out. They sent me a document to sign that says we mutually agreed to terminate and earnest money will be returned. I refused to sign. Can the seller do this, can i take legal action. I want to move forward with the deal.

Is This A Good Deal For A First Car?

I am looking around for a first car and I do not have that much to spare. Even over a$1000 would be too much. So I was browsing thorugh craigslist yesterday and stumbled upon this.http://houston.craigslist.org/car/374241…
Would this be a good car. The girl is willng to accept $400 for it. Are these cars good and reliable by history? Here’s some pics:http://photos.msn.com/Slideshow/Viewer.h…
It ain’t pretty but its only for commuting between home and college and possibly work. She told me that it has had a tune up in the last 6 weeks, new wipers, fluids, working signals and lights. Its missing a door panel but the window still works. Of course, it needs inspection and registration but that’s why its so cheap. So what do you think?

I’m going to work in an orphanage at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro for a couple weeks this summer, but I’ll be on my period. Should I just avoid the trip all together? I’m not sure how good the plumbing and stuff will be considering the average yearly income per capita is $248. Will it be worth it?

How can I deal with a boss and coworker that constantly farts (smelly ones), belches, scratches himself, eats with his hands etc., which he by the way does not wash after using the bathroom. I can hear the plumbing from my office. The toilet flushes, but the water is not used.
Has lots of good qualities, but I just snapped a minute ago - almost barfed from the no-warning, no-apology fart of the century.
Sickening.

ok so i was supposed to be closing on a home today but yesterday at the very last moment countrywide called me and said that since i make the majority of my salary from commission that they were not going to approve the loan. i was to say the least devastated. from the very beginning i told the person i spoke to how much was my base pay and how much i make with commision. i faxed over pay stubs that reflected that as well, and now after i have paid 350 for an appraisal and 180 for an inspection they are rejecting the loan. are they allowed to get away with such an act? i am currently attempting to go through colonial to see if they can work with me. the person processing my loan asked for a verification fax from my job, when she got that fax she said we cant approve this loan. this after i sent her my pay stubs. what options do i have at this point?

I am buying a house and after making several offers on the home they finally accepted an offer. I was asked to pay the real estate agent 1000 dollars in earnest money on a house that i am interested in so that they can see that I am serious bout buying the house. My question is this: If after the inspection I am not happy with the house can I renegotiate the initial offer if all the things that are wrong with the house are not fixed? And if the seller refuses to fix everything with the house, and refuses to lower the price do I have to go through with the deal even if I already gave them 1000 dollars earnest money? And If I do not go through with the deal because I am unsatisfied with repairs on the house am I entitled to get the 1000 dollars earnest deposit back or do I lose this money?

Our gas water heater has never given us problems, but tonight when we filled our bathtub, we ran out of hot water halfway through the filling. However, in 20 minutes the water started to get hot again and in an hour’s time, it was back to HOT. Is this normal? Why did we lose hot water when none of us were home to use any hot water during the day (other than our morning showers)?

Safety issues and other issues that would need to be address immediately: Possible rodent infestation, wood rot due to clogged gutters, clogged gutters, dirty house, unsecured toilet, and unstable banister.
The above issues may costs less than $5000 to repair or address, but in real estate, or rather a mortgage, every penny can impact monthly payments.
On the other hand, I really like this house. It has everything I was looking in a house with regards to style, location, proximity to work and other features. I wonder despite all of the issues, would I be foolish to take this house without a price adjustment?

What’s The Deal With My Hot Water?

The water in my upstairs bathroom had recently not been getting hot in the shower, the sink was fine as was the rest of the house. Well, my husband has a friend whom is a plumber that came out and pulled something that looked like a wooden golf tee out of the line and he replaced the cooper pipes and the faucet. Well, now there is no hot water coming out of the pipes in the upstairs and downstairs bathroom but the water in the kitchen and all of the sinks gets hot enough to scald you what’s the deal. We have a gas heater by the way but it is one that doesn’t have a pilot light.

I have closed escrow on a condo with 2 major problems. 1) I have a large crack in my granite countertop in my kitchen. 2) I have a granite sink in my bathroom that is cracked near the faucet. It also tilts backwards toward the mirror, and therefore needs to be releveled. I believe the granite in both areas needs to be replaced due to the cracks. The builder is aware of these problems, but has not addressed them yet, and it is delaying my ability to move-in. In case you’re wondering why I closed escrow knowing these defects existed, it is because there was a clause in my contract saying that I could not delay closing for a final walk through, and that these problems would be fixed by the builder. Unfortunately it is not working out that way, since the builder is not addressing these problems in a timely fashion. I have heard that the builder may try to refund the cost of the granite, but I want it replaced. How should I proceed, and what agencies other than the BBB can help me?
