Can I Change A Bathroom Faucet Myself?

Does it take any special plumber tools? I am very mechanically inclined but I know that in some plumbing jobs it takes special tools. I want to changing a basic 4″ bathroom vanity faucet. Anyone have some pointers out there? Or should I call a plumber?

i know i shouldn’t dump it in the sink, i usually put it in a bottle and throw it in the garbage but i don’t usually have an empty bottle, can i dump it in the toilet? is that bad for the plumbing pipes? thanks

Refund Of Earnest Money?

What’s the process of getting the Earnest Money refunded when the contract is terminated?
We terminated a contract because the property failed the home inspection and we terminated within the termination option period. The day after the contract was terminated, we sent a Cerified Mail to the escrow officer (Title Company) to request in writing the Earnest Money to be refunded to us. In the mail, we included a request letter, a copy of the notice of termination of contract, and a copy of Earnest Money check.
When do we expect to get our refund? Is there anything else we need to do or do we just have to wait?

I’d like to make this statue out of copper pipes. I have one big pipe, and then a bunch of soft copper tubes used for plumbing. I have a soldering iron, and solder-I have been trying to attach some of the softer tubes to the larger one, but the solder snaps right off… with little effort..or slides right off before it cools-im having trouble getting it to stick to the copper? Any suggestions?? thank you!

Old Dog Aggresive! New Puppy?

Our dog is a 10 year old dachshund. Whenever he meets a dog he growls at it while he sniffs it. He has never been able to live with another dog though. One time we took in a stray mabey 4 years ago and he did fine with it after they met. Well now we are thinking about getting a service dog puppy to raise. They do a home inspection as well. How can I help my dog be less aggressive towards other dogs? Especially when they first meet? Thanks for any advice!

The heater is less than 10 years old. It was drained when water was shut down for winter and refilled four months later. There was no water problem before this. Is currently beening drained weekly to lessen brown water. We have very hard water, but have never encountered this before. Also causes itchy skin.

Think John’s campaign has turned into a real comedy performance - be a real tongue hanger with allot of wink and blink from Palin, love watching Sarah - no use for her political views but do enjoy her performances.
Of course Lieberman would have to be there to give John his lines and correct facts. Joe the Plumber could do some unlicensed Plumbing - don’t think any of the Saturday Night players would be needed especially if a guest appearance by Dick & W and all the wonderful slap stick they could offer.
What do you think - Yahooo-ers?

Having “winterize Home” In Mortgage Contract?

We are planning on purchasing our first home in Colorado in October but won’t be moving into it until the beginning of January(Army). I just stumbled upon “winterizing” homes. This is a problem for us since we won’t be there to get this done and don’t know anyone there to get this done for us. We will be flying into Colorado for a week in October to see houses and put in a bid; so we won’t be there for all the closing and inspections. Would it be far fetched to put in the contract that we want the home winterized? It just seems like this would be our only resort since we won’t be there to get it done.

Is Drinking Distilled Water Harmful To Health?

The plumbing in my apartment is 30 years old and may contain lead. I think it is leaching toxins into the tapwater. I have stopped drinking tapwater and use only distilled water for cooking and drinking. Is this harmful to health in the long term?

Roof Truss Spacing Question?

I am buying a new home, just got my inspection report. In the report it stated that the trusses are manufactured and are 24″ on center. He said the roof sheathing sags in various sports a little between the trusses but noted this is typical of homes with these type of truss systems. Did not emphasize it as a major concern, but should I be, or this this normal for a manufactured roof truss system?
