Having Problem With Water Supply In Tank?
I don’t know much about plumbing, but it’s been driving me mad! I have water from the main water supply and I can run the washing machine with no problem. The problem is the toilet has so little water and my sink isn’t working as it should. I’m calling a plumber but how I do actually address the problem to him? I’m scared i might be taken advantage of since I’m living on my own and no idea about valves or pipes at all! What kind of answers i might get from a plumber? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

If you have old steel pipes, they may be clogged with build up and corrosion and need to be changed to copper or plastic. Otherwise the supply line and fill valve in the toilet tank may need to be replaced as well as the cartridges in the faucet. I can’t give a complete diagnosis without actually inspecting the plumbing. Also the amount of water supplied to the house may not allow for using multiple fixtures at the same time.
you should ask if he will isolate the pipes going to the stuss that has low pressure. Example the line to the toilet and sink maybe parially plugged. If he is willing to try this it may save a couple of hours of trouble shoting hence a lower bill. If he doesn’t even want to consider any of your advise try another plumber.
look under the sink, is there 2 little valves ? check to see if there all the way open, the toilet, is the tank filling up ? check the float level, does it need adjusting ?
the plumer, just tell him theres very little water pressure to the house.
it sounds as though you have a loss in pressure.you do not give many details but if the pump is running a lot than it is possible that the bladder in the water tank has burst which would cause the symptoms you describe as the pump is trying to fill a larger space than it should be and the pressure is not building up to the proper level
