What’s Wrong With My Hot Water Heater?

About two weeks ago my hot water suddenly seemed to lose pressure. The cold water pressure is normal but the hot water pressure has dropped to about 1/4 of what it was. I’ve checked the best that a can and it would seem that the pressure of the cold water going into the water heater is fine but the pressure of the water coming out is low. I’ve flushed the tank out thoroughly hoping that was the problems with no success. What else could be causing this?

is the temp p/r valve leaking???/ Is the tank leaking??? Is the outlet valve fully opened????? remove the outlet pipe and see if it is gunked up>
could be any number of things, but probably is gunk in the outlets or at the valve.
When you flush it out, is the water coming out of the flush valve the same pressure as your cold water? If it is, I would suspect it to be the hot water supply shut-off valve, the dielectric coupling or both may be clogged by a piece of mineral deposit having broken-off inside the tank and lodged there. As far as fixing it, unless you’re handy with a torch, flux and solder, I’d call a plumber. If the tank is old and getting to the point of outliving it’s usefulness, you might consider a new tank or tankless system installed by a professional.
