Is Paying For Home Inspection Worth It?
Our home warranty expires soon, its a 1yr old house …is it worth to get it inspected by a agency? (Eg: US inspect) We have no idea what things to look for ..any clues suggestions would save us lots of problems in future.
Thanks in advance.

I would say yes, definately! When my husband and I were looking for a house, we looked at several houses. When we found one we liked, we went ahead with an inspection. We are so glad we did because the house was infested with termites, carpenter ants, and bees. Not to mention the fireplaces were not safe to use. We eventually did find a great house to buy and love it. It was well worth the money to get an inspector. Even if the house isn’t that old, at least you will know if anything is wrong with it. And it will save you a lot of money in the future by knowing right away about possible problems with the house.
People put to much faith into home inspections and home inspectors. They are worth wile and I would always recommend one but you have to realize they only are looking for thing they can “see”. They can’t tell what is going on behind the walls or in other area that can’t be seen. They usually are well trained and know what to look for but again, they can’t see it all.
If you read your home inspection report they will have a paragraph explaining this and a statement you sign releasing them for any liability.
If you have any concerns make sure you point it out to them so they can pay extra attention to it.
I am not telling you not to get one, I would encourage you to get one, but not all problems are obvious and can be seen by a home inspector.
Yes, always! The inspector knows what to look for, water damage, insulation, piping, drainage.
I got a home inspection done before I bought a home. I wasn’t going to but I’m glad I did, it saved me from buying a dump!
